Remove Pages from PDF
Type the pages to remove, or load the PDF first to see thumbnails you can click to select.
Two Ways to Select Pages
- Type page numbers — Enter the pages you want to remove directly in the text field, e.g. 1, 3, 5-8. Quick for when you already know which pages to delete.
- Click thumbnails — Drop a PDF to see thumbnail previews of every page. Click any thumbnail to mark it for removal (it turns red with an ✕). The text field updates automatically.
Common Use Cases
Removing pages is useful for deleting cover pages before sharing, stripping blank pages left by scanners, removing confidential pages before distribution, or trimming a long report down to only the relevant sections. PDFForge processes the deletion entirely in your browser so the original file is never modified — the download is always a new file.
Remove Blank Pages from Scanned Documents
Flatbed scanners frequently insert blank pages between sections of a document, especially in duplex (double-sided) scanning mode when one side of a sheet is blank. These blank pages add unnecessary bulk to the PDF and can confuse readers. The Remove Pages tool makes it easy to clean up scanned documents: load the PDF, click the thumbnail of each blank page to mark it for removal, and click Remove Pages & Download. The result is a compact, professional-looking PDF without any blank gaps.
Remove Confidential Pages Before Sharing
A very common use case for page removal is redacting or separating sensitive information before distributing a document. For example, an internal report might have a page with personal staff data, salary information or unpublished financial figures that should not be shared with external recipients. Rather than creating a new document from scratch, simply remove the sensitive pages from the original and share the cleaned version. Because PDFForge processes everything locally in your browser, the sensitive pages never leave your device even momentarily.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I remove all pages except specific ones?
Yes, indirectly. Use the Split PDF tool to extract the pages you want to keep, which has the same effect as removing all the other pages.
Will removing pages affect the remaining pages?
No. Only the specified pages are deleted. All remaining pages keep their original quality, fonts and formatting.
Can I remove pages from a password-protected PDF?
PDFForge tries to load password-protected PDFs with encryption bypassed. If the PDF is strongly encrypted, use the Protect / Unlock tool to remove the password first.
What is the minimum number of pages that must remain?
A valid PDF must contain at least one page. PDFForge will show an error if you try to remove all pages from a document. You must always leave at least one page in the output.
Can I undo a page removal?
No — once you download the output PDF, the removed pages are gone from that file. Always keep your original PDF as a backup before removing pages. PDFForge never modifies your original file; it always creates a new output file.
